Fractional CTO services from the engineers who build.
Whisia is a fractional CTO company for startups and established businesses. Our Technical Partner plan starts at $4K a month: we decide the architecture and write it down, set the standards your code is held to, run a release pipeline in your own accounts and review every change before release. It runs month to month and never takes equity.

Who hires a fractional CTO from us
- A founder making technical decisions by default. Nobody on the team can say which option is right, so the choice falls to whoever wrote the first version.
- A product with a few developers and no one setting direction. Each developer builds in a different way, and releases have become something to worry about.
- A company about to build. You want the foundations decided properly before the expensive work starts.
What the plan includes
- Architecture and the decisions that follow from it, written down so anyone can read why each choice was made.
- The engineering standards your code is held to.
- A release pipeline in your own accounts.
- Every change reviewed before release.
- One shared channel, answers the same working day, and check-ins on a fixed day each week.
Your first two weeks
In week one we get access to your setup, agree the priorities and open the shared channel. We start from what exists rather than asking you to start again.
By the end of week two you have something working in your hands: usually a written picture of the risks with the first decisions taken, or a release pipeline running end to end for one service. We agree which at kickoff.
How we differ from most fractional CTOs
A fractional CTO is often one senior person who advises for a few days a month while someone else does the work. We are engineers who make the technical decisions and then build on them. The people on the intro call are the people who write the code, nothing is subcontracted, and there are no account managers.
If you want an executive to borrow for a board meeting, or a CTO title to show investors, we are the wrong choice and will say so.
When to hire a full-time CTO instead
When there is enough engineering to fill the job: a team to manage, a hiring plan, a product with a roadmap of its own, and decisions arriving faster than a part-time partner can take them. When you cross that line we will tell you, and help you hire the person who replaces us.
Questions
How much does a fractional CTO cost?
With Whisia, the Technical Partner plan starts at $4K a month. If we also design and build the product, Full Partnership starts at $7K a month. Both run month to month.
Do you take equity?
Never. We are paid in fees only, and everything we build belongs to you from the first commit.
Can you work with the developers we already have?
Yes. We set the architecture and review the code, and your developers keep building. If that is all you need, Managed Developers starts at $2.5K a month.
Where are you based?
We are fully remote and work with clients anywhere. Everything runs in writing in one shared channel.
Can we stop?
Yes, at the end of any month. You keep every repository, account and document, with a written handover.
Tell us what you are building and what is stuck. In 48 hours you will have the plan and the price in writing.
