AWS cost optimization. No saving, no fee.

Whisia offers AWS cost optimization for companies whose bill has grown faster than their usage. We review your account with read-only access, then make the changes over six months. Our fee is 30% of the verified saving, so if your AWS bill does not fall, you pay nothing. We take on Google Cloud bills as well.

Where AWS bills usually grow

ServiceWhat we look for
EC2Instances larger than their load needs, and instances nobody uses
Savings Plans and Reserved InstancesSteady workloads paying on-demand prices, and commitments that are going unused
RDSOversized databases, and test databases left running
S3Data held in a more expensive storage class than its access pattern needs
EBS and snapshotsUnattached volumes and old snapshots
Data transferTraffic crossing zones or leaving through NAT gateways when it need not
Kubernetes (EKS)Clusters with far more capacity reserved than used

Three checks you can do yourself

  1. Open AWS Cost Explorer and group by service. Compare this month with six months ago, and find the line that grew fastest.
  2. Find your non-production environments. Ask whether they need to run overnight and at weekends.
  3. Look for an owner. For each of the five largest lines, ask who could explain it. A line nobody can explain is usually where to start.

How the work runs

We start with read-only access. In weeks one and two we review the account and list each finding with its estimated saving, risk and effort. You approve what to change. We then make one change at a time through your own process, each with a rollback.

Savings Plans and Reserved Instances are bought by you, in your name, and their cost is counted before any saving is. The fee is 30% of the verified saving for six months. The full terms are on the cloud cost reduction page.

Questions

How do I reduce my AWS bill quickly?

Start with unused and oversized resources, because they carry the lowest risk. Then look at Savings Plans for steady workloads. Commit only after sizing is right, or you lock in the waste.

Is AWS Trusted Advisor or Cost Explorer enough?

They are useful and show you where to look. They do not make the changes, weigh the risk or carry them out safely in production.

Do you need write access to my AWS account?

Not for the audit, which is read-only. Later changes go through your process, with your approval.

What does it cost?

30% of the verified saving, for six months. No saving, no fee.

Send us your rough monthly AWS bill. Twenty minutes is usually enough to tell whether it is worth an audit.
